Thomas L Carnes, III (Trey) is a graduate of Shorter College and obtained his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law located in Jackson, Mississippi. Prior to joining ML Healthcare, Trey represented many of Georgia’s largest hospitals and healthcare systems in the area of third-party reimbursement. While Trey’s focus is now on healthcare related issues and their impact on personal injury cases, he began is legal career with a boutique law firm in Cartersville, Georgia, specializing in motorcycle related injuries.
Through his representation of the injured throughout Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi, Trey gained great insight into successfully negotiating and resolving outstanding medical bills, provider liens and subrogation claims. His knowledge and previous experiences have made him a resource on all matters pertaining to third party reimbursement and subrogation and his insight and unique perspective provides him a specific skill set that cannot be found at any other company.
Trey now serves as ML Healthcare’s Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice-President. He is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia The Supreme Court of Georgia, The Court of Appeals of Georgia and all State and Superior Courts in Georgia.
Trey is a proud resident of Brookhaven, and in his personal time, enjoys playing golf, running and working on is antique truck. He is also an avid Atlanta sports fan and regularly attends Braves, Falcons and Hawks games with his wife, Amanda. They also have one son, Leo, and two dogs, Jackson and Cotton.
